Wondering if you should be using Zoom, since it’s been in the news? Here’s the word from our security engineers as of right now. If you can’t feasibly switch to a business-grade platform like Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting or Cisco Webex, we recommend taking the following steps to help make Zoom more secure.
- Make sure your software is up-to-date.
- Ensure all meetings require a password to start, and use the lobby feature. Delete all old, public, password-less meetings.
- Ensure 2FA is enabled on all meeting administrator accounts.
- Avoid sharing critical or highly sensitive data in a meeting and use a direct phone call outside of the meeting to share such information.
